インドネシア国立芸術大学でのガムラン修行や、セネガルのドゥドゥ・ンジャエ・ローズ・ファミリーのもとでのサバールドラム修行など世界各地の芸能を学び、様々な音楽の領域で活動する。2012 年に自作太鼓［遊鼓］を生み、2017年に遊鼓を叩きながら東京から岡山へ徒歩で移住。その後、地域づくりに関わりはじめ、小水力発電制作や山菜収穫イベント、盆踊りの再生（長蔵音頭）、ライブイベント（ハブライブ！ラブライフ！）などに取り組む。2022年、ハーバード大学公衆衛生大学院へ研究留学し、帰国後は京都大学大学院医学研究科社会疫学分野にて研究をしている。藝能の現在性、アートの原始を探求し、境界を渡り歩く道程における出会いと対話のプロセスを、あらゆる形態で現し、つなぎ、ほどいている。2023年には監督した「音の映画 Our Sounds」が劇場公開される。
He has studied traditional performing arts from around the world, including training in gamelan at the Indonesia Institute of the Arts and sabar drumming with the Doudou N'Diaye Rose family in Senegal, engaging in diverse musical fields. In 2012, he created his own drum, the "Yuko," and in 2017, he walked from Tokyo to Okayama while playing the Yuko, marking his relocation. Since then, he has been involved in community-fostering initiatives, such as developing small-scale hydropower projects, organizing wild vegetable foraging events, reviving traditional Bon dances (Chozo Ondo), and producing live events like "Habu Live! Love Life!" In 2022, he conducted research as a Visiting Graduate Student at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Upon returning to Japan, he joined the Department of Social Epidemiology, Graduate School of Medicine and School of Public Health, Kyoto University for further research. He explores the contemporary significance of performing arts and the primal essence of art, manifesting, connecting, and unraveling encounters and dialogues in his journey across boundaries. In 2023, his directorial film Our Sounds was released in theaters.

幼少期
北の果て、かつて製鉄で栄えた港町に生まれ育つ。夢は動物のお医者さん。
中高時代
宇宙論・物理の研究者を目指し茨城県つくば市のとある寮に入る。部活動はラグビー部。東日本大会で優勝し、茨城県代表として国体に出場する。ラグビーと筋トレに明け暮れる。
大学時代
東京造形大学映画専攻卒業。パフォーマンス作品「激愛」がＺＯＫＥＩ賞（卒業制作優秀作品）を受賞。
インドネシア国立芸術大学ソロ・スラカルタ校にてガムラン音楽研修。
浅草サンバカーニバル優勝。（インペリオ・ド・サンバ）
20代前期
SAXの上達の為に、調和道丹田呼吸法を始めるが、呼吸自体が面白くなる。
野田秀樹氏のワークショップに参加。この頃、徒歩移動にハマり、ワークショップに参加する為に、東京から大阪まで徒歩で横断。
20代中期
サックスを林栄一、音楽理論を菊池成孔に師事。
アフリカのセネガルに渡り、人間国宝ドゥドゥ・ンジャエ・ローズ・ファミリーのもとでサバールドラムを学ぶ。
この頃、松崎ナオ、馬喰町バンド、SUNDRUM、チェ・ジェチョル、サム・ベネット、等と出会い音楽活動に専念し始める。
ＴＶ東京「おはスタ」出演。
20代後期
「金ノプロペラ舍」 設立。（2012年）
自作太鼓「遊鼓」誕生。（2012年）
NHK-BS1「エルムンド」に「馬喰町バンド」で三夜連続出演。遊鼓の初ＴＶ出演を果たし、山田五郎さんの誕生日を遊鼓で祝う。
ｗｏｗｏｗ「ザ・プライムショー」に出演。数少ないＴＶ出演にも関わらず、出演者の誕生日に縁があるのか、山田五郎さんに引き続き、土屋アンナさんの誕生日を祝う。胸キュン。
遊鼓を叩きながら歩く「遊行遊鼓」開始。山手線一周、高尾山、夢の島、奥多摩湖～羽田空港（100㎞）など、兎に角、叩き歩きまくる。
人類の宇宙観の結晶である暦に関する、自身初の著作「宇宙飛行暦」出版。少部数だが、完売。
坂東三十三観音、秩父三十四観音、西国三十三観音、江戸三十三観音、番外も含め１３９の寺を巡る。
横浜トリエンナーレ出演。（SUNDRUM)
香港にて「Hong Kong Butoh Festival 舞踏九龍城寨 Walled City Butoh」制作、出演。
2015年
土生姓の聖地「土生神社 創建九百二十五年 本殿改築竣工百年記念行事 奉納祭」にて遊鼓の奉納演奏。
調和道丹田呼吸法の指導員認定を受け、日暮里の本部道場にて実修を始める。
「関ジャニ∞の元気が出るCD!!」のレコーディングにパーカッションで参加。
台湾の原住民らと音楽を通じて交流を深める。（3月、7月）
2016年
再び、台湾の原住民らと音楽を通じて交流を深める。（1月）
韓国にて農楽奏者（イム・スンファン、イ・ソンス、等）とコラボレーション。（8月）
南インドのディンディガルに住む「パライ」という叩き踊り太鼓を演奏するシャクティ舞踊団と交流を深める。（3月、10月）
2017年
遊鼓を叩きながら東京から移住先の岡山県高梁市有漢町まで約770kmの道のりを歩く「 遊行遊鼓 - Let's go OKAYAMA!!! 」を完遂。
その2か月後、東京から亡き祖父母の故郷である宮城県亘理郡まで遊鼓を叩き歩く「 遊行遊鼓 - ハブの原郷ワタリ 」を完遂。偶然にもゴールが3月11日となり、八重垣神社にて奉納演奏させていただく。
ゼロからの草の根活動に挑戦すべく、岡山県高梁市有漢地区に地域おこし協力隊として着任。
NHKシャキーンの「おもしりとり」に有漢の子供たちと出演。
日本最大級のクラシック音楽祭ラ・フォル・ジュネに「チェ・ジェチョル×ハブヒロシ×大野慎也」で出演。
「ハブライブ！ラブライフ！」の第1回目（サカキマンゴー）、第2回目（SUNDRUM、小谷野哲郎）を開催。
有漢で廃れていた水車小屋を再生し、小水力発電を制作。
有漢の山の幸を味わい尽くす「うかん山里フェスタ」をスタート。春と秋に開催し、山菜取りや、昆虫食、釣り、お茶づくり、竹炭づくりなど、山の営みを体験するイベント。
2018年
「ハブライブ！ラブライフ！」の第3回（OKI、レクポ、小谷野哲郎）、第4回（UA、あふりらんぽ、マレウレウ、サカキマンゴー）を開催。
西日本を中心に史上まれにみる豪雨が高梁を襲い、町が崩壊する。生まれて初めて避難所で夜を過ごし、その後はゴミ処理を中心に町の復興に励む。
2019年
消滅していた有漢最古の盆踊り「長蔵音頭（四ツ拍子）」を復活。CDアルバム＜長蔵音頭＞全国発売開始。
2020年
岡山大学大学院医歯薬学総合研究科 修士課程（公衆衛生学）修了
倉敷芸文館にて備中神楽と共演。（クロスカルチャーKAGURAフェスティバル）
NPO法人丹田呼吸法普及会 理事長就任
「ハブライブ！ラブライフ！」（坪内あつし、佐伯真由美、横手アリサ、水谷浩章、チェ・ジェチョル、馬喰町バンド）の第5回を開催。コロナウィルスの影響から急遽テレライブに変更！
高梁市にて、在住外国人の交流の場として日本語教室の運営を開始。

Childhood
Born and raised in a northern port town once prosperous in steel production. Dreamed of becoming a veterinarian.
Junior and Senior High School
Moved to a dormitory in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, aspiring to be a researcher in cosmology and physics. Played rugby as a member of the school team, winning the Eastern Japan Championship and representing Ibaraki Prefecture at the National Sports Festival. Immersed in rugby and strength training.
University
Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, specializing in film. Received the ZOKEI Award for his graduation performance piece Geki Ai (Fierce Love).
Studied gamelan music at the Indonesia Institute of the Arts in Solo, Surakarta.
Won the Asakusa Samba Carnival with Império do Samba.
Early 20s
Began practicing Tanden Breathing Methods to improve saxophone performance and became fascinated by breathing itself.
Participated in workshops by renowned theater director Hideki Noda. Developed a passion for walking and traveled on foot from Tokyo to Osaka to attend workshops.
Mid-20s
Studied saxophone under Eiichi Hayashi and music theory under Naruyoshi Kikuchi.
Traveled to Senegal to learn sabar drumming under the Doudou N'Diaye Rose family, designated as a Living National Treasure.
Began focusing on music, collaborating with Nao Mutsuzaki, Bakurocho Band, SUNDRUM, Choi Jae-cheol, and Samm Bennett.
Appeared on TV Tokyo's Oha Suta.
Late 20s
Founded "Kin no Puropera Sha" in 2012.
Created his original drum, the "Yuko," in 2012.
Made his TV debut with Yuko on NHK-BS1's El Mundo while performing with the Bakurocho Band. Celebrated Goro Yamada's birthday with Yuko.
Appeared on WOWOW's The Prime Show, coincidentally celebrating Anna Tsuchiya's birthday after Goro Yamada's.
Started Yuko Journeys, walking while drumming around Tokyo landmarks, such as the Yamanote Line, Mount Takao, and Haneda Airport (100 km).
Published his first book, The Calendar of Space Travel, exploring humanity's cosmology through calendars.
Pilgrimage to 139 Buddhist temples, including the Bando 33 Kannon, Chichibu 34 Kannon, Saigoku 33 Kannon, and Edo 33 Kannon.

2015
Performed a Yuko dedication at Habu Shrine's 925th Anniversary Ceremony.

2017
Completed Yuko Journey by walking approximately 770 km from Tokyo to his new home in Ukan Town, Okayama Prefecture.
Two months later, completed a second Yuko Journey from Tokyo to his late grandparents' hometown in Watari, Miyagi Prefecture, coinciding with March 11, when he performed a dedication at Yaegaki Shrine.
Joined Ukan Town as a Community-reactivating cooperator squad to start grassroots activities.
Appeared with local children on NHK's Shakiin.
Performed at the La Folle Journée music festival with Choi Jae-cheol and Ono Shinya.
Revitalized an old watermill to produce small-scale hydropower.
Launched the Ukan Yamazato Festival, a biannual event celebrating mountain living with activities like wild vegetable foraging, insect cuisine, fishing, tea-making, and bamboo charcoal production.
2018
Expanded Habu Live! Love Life! series with prominent artists like OKI, UA, Afrirampo, and Sakaki Mango.
Assisted in recovery efforts after a devastating flood in Okayama, experiencing evacuation shelter life for the first time.

Revived the long-lost Chozo Ondo (a local Bon dance). Released the Chozo Ondo CD.

Completed a master's degree in public health at Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
